CAMINHOS DO CINEMA PORTUGUÊS 31ª EDIÇÃO

Caminhos do Cinema Português, a festival based in Coimbra, establishes itself as a platform for the promotion and meeting point of Portuguese national cinema, aiming to foster cultural decentralization and strengthen the connection between territory and community. For its 31st edition, the poster was developed from a direct reference to North by Northwest by Alfred Hitchcock, whose iconic typographic opening sequence was designed by Saul Bass. Inspired by this modernist and dynamic visual language, the project explores typography as a structural and narrative element that conveys movement, tension, and cinematic rhythm. At the same time, the poster incorporates a graphic dimension associated with navigation and radar — connecting lines and meeting points that link all the municipalities of the Coimbra district. This visual approach also draws from symbolic elements of Hitchcock's film, reinforcing ideas of pursuit, direction, and spatial mapping.
